Carl Howard: Assistant Regional Counsel at EPA
He is a veteran enforcement attorney with expertise in hazardous and toxic substance regulation and permitting. He has worked on RCRA, TSCA, EPCRA and CERCLA matters. In his spare time, he is also a co-chair of the Global Climate Change Committee of the Environmental Law Section with the NY State Bar Association where he was an officer with the Section for five years including Chair of the Section.

Christine Appah: Environmental Justice Lawyer
Christine Appah is an attorney who specializes in environmental justice and sustainability. Her background includes several years of experience in the nonprofit sector, working on environmental, housing, food security and civil rights issues. Christine has worked as a senior staff attorney in the Environmental Justice Program at New York Lawyers for the Public Interest and as a regional director at the New York State Division of Human Rights. She began her career as a staff attorney in the Civil Division of The Legal Aid Society of New York. Christine graduated magna cum laude from The City College of New York and received her law degree from Duke University School of Law. Christine was appointed to serve as a member of New York City’s Environmental Justice and OneNYC Advisory Boards.

Katrina Fischer Kuh: Haub Distinguished Professor of Law at the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University
Katrina Fischer Kuh teaches Administrative Law, Climate Change Law, Environmental Law Survey and Torts. She has published widely on subjects related to environmental law and chaired the New York State Bar Association Task Force on the Environmental Aspects of the New York State Constitution​

Jessica Steinberg Albin: Environmental attorney and adjunct professor of law

Jessica Steinberg Albin is a Legislative Counsel at the NYC Council, where she is counsel to the Committee on Resiliency and Waterfronts and Committee on Transportation.  Prior to working at the Council, Jessica was an Assistant Attorney at the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation where she worked with the Office of Hearings and Mediation Services and then in Region 2 on matters involving marine resources, the Brownfield Cleanup Program, and the State Superfund. Jessica is also an adjunct professor at the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University and is co-chair of the Environmental Justice Committee of the New York State Bar Association.

Maya K. van Rossum is the Founder of Green Amendments For the Generations, a non-profit organization inspiring a nationwide movement to secure constitutional recognition and protection of environmental rights and author of, The Green Amendment. van Rossum is also the Delaware Riverkeeper, leading the Delaware Riverkeeper Network, for over 26 years in its efforts to protect the health of the Delaware River and its tributaries.

Kate Kurera: Deputy Director at Environmental Advocates NY
As an attorney admitted to practice in New York and Victoria, Australia, Kate Kurera is an expert in environmental policy and law. Kate has vast experience working with international, federal, and state governmental bodies. She received her JD with a certificate in environmental law from Pace University, School of Law. She also has a Master of Public Administration in Environmental Science and Policy from Columbia University’s School for International and Public Affairs and a Bachelor of Arts in Government from Skidmore College.
