In honor of...

Katina Elizabeth Pearl-Blando

In the words of her daughter, Ava, “Katina was passionate about equality, environmental protection, and public health, having received her Masters in Public Health from Columbia University in 1994. She was only 51 when she died from a very rare lung cancer, and I was 17. We believe her cancer was caused by exposure to carcinogens in the air after 9/11.

"She was the person who introduced me to the New Jersey Student Sustainability Coalition and encouraged me to join. Without her, I would never have become an environmental activist or started the Green Amendment team at NJSSC.”

Larry Stauffer

Larry Stauffer was a devoted husband and father. He was a Springer Spaniel loving beer connoisseur. He was a life-long Philadelphia Flyers fan, passing down his love of the team to his children. Larry was a skilled electrician, working in the field his whole life. He was a nature lover who became passionate about anything and everything environmental that effected the ones he loved.  A warmth in every persons life he touched, Larry Stauffer was a man who loved his family and friends with an overflowing heart. No matter what he was doing he made everyone he was with feel comfortable, important, and welcomed.
