NJ Green Amendment Town Hall – Maplewood
October 13, 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm EDT
When it comes to the right to pure water, clean air, and healthy environments in New Jersey – for present and future generations – the people deserve to be heard! And when the legislature doesn’t give us that opportunity, we have to create it for ourselves.
Join SOMA Action Climate and Green Amendments For The Generations for a community Town Hall on the New Jersey Green Amendment with award-winning speaker and advocate Maya K. van Rossum.
Tuesday, October 13, 2026 from 7-8PM
Maplewood Memorial Library
Community Room
51 Baker St, Maplewood, NJ 07040
Register at SOMAACTION.ORG/GREENAMENDTALK.
This event is sponsored by SOMA Action Climate, Green Amendments For The Generations, Waterspirit, and New Jersey League of Conservation Voters.
About the Speaker:
Maya K. van Rossum, founder and leader of GAFTG, will speak to the power of Green Amendments for protecting present and future generations, the current effort to secure a Green Amendment in NJ’s state constitution, and how you can get involved in the statewide and national movements. Then the floor will turn to YOU, the people, to share your thoughts, ask questions, and engage with community and leaders about what a New Jersey Green Amendment means to you.
If childcare and/or transportation are an issue, you can apply for a mini-grant here through Green Amendments For the Generations. Please apply by October 8th at 11:59 PM in order to receive your reimbursement via $25 gift card on the day of the town hall. All Reimbursements must be collected in-person at the town hall.
