Hamptons Doc Fest and Southampton Arts Center present DOCS EQUINOX, a three day film festival to celebrate Earth Week. The event features 3 compelling documentary films, panel talks, a special 'Water Central’ information hub with 5 local environmental groups, and welcoming cocktail receptions. The water environment around us, but specifically Long Island’s drinking water, is sourced from the unique aquifer positioned right under where we live, work and play. See why we are charged to protect and preserve this vital part of our ecosystem. All in for the Aquifer engages the question with film and discussion. No one can survive without water. Don't miss any of it.To kick off the event, Maya van Rossum will be delivering a Keynote on New York's state recent adoption of the Green Amendment into its state constitution and the power it holds for the people and their communities when it comes to environmental protection. Green Amendments For The Generations

As a seasoned full-time environmentalist, my prior view was that governments, almost by their very nature, usually cause more harm than good. Here is an approach that I think, if followed through with utter attention to detail, can provide a tool for genuine solutions based on governmental features." ... See MoreSee Less
