Green Amendment Treats – No Trick

Gathering To Leave A Legacy of Protection – Will You Join Us?

Have you gotten your hand addressed letter yet in which Maya shares the amazing progress that GAFTG has made in the past 10 years, and asks for your support? If you haven’t, our incredible volunteers have it in the works and it should be arriving in your mailbox some time soon.

Since the beginning of October volunteers have been gathering to help us put personal notes on EVERY letter we send asking for support. So far over 20 volunteers are investing their precious free time to help support the Green Amendment movement in this way.

Support the Green Amendment movement that is leaving a lasting legacy of protection for all people and all generations by donating today at: bit.ly/GA10YearCelebration

As an added bonus – and because our supporters believe in the power of the people, and not just the power of the pocket – GAFTG will receive an extra $250 for every 10 donations we receive – no matter the size.

Please reward their dedication to the Green Amendment movement with a donation of support.

As we celebrate the 10 Years Anniversary of the Green Amendment movement, the incredible progress we’ve made towards realizing and upholding fundamental constitutional environmental rights for all, and the wonderful partners and friends we’ve made along the way – GAFTG is also facing a very real gap in the funding and needs your support. Please donate what you can today at: bit.ly/GA10YearCelebration

In The News

Every month there are great news pieces about Green Amendments advancing nationwide. This is our favorite one of the past month. It is a news clip lifting up the values of the Texas Green Amendment.

Gloria’s Story

The Journey of Advocating For a Green Amendment is Powerful.

While securing a Green Amendment provides unparalleled legal strength for advancing environmental protection and justice, the process of advocating for Green Amendment protections also provides incredible benefits. Here is one example of how. Read Gloria’s Story:

For the past two years I have been seeking signatures in support of Michigan having a Green Amendment. I do this by attending climate related events and our local farmers market. As a part of my encouragement to support the Michigan Green Amendment I explain at this point anyone living in MI can sign, regardless of age or voting status.

This year in late April early June, I was standing at the entrance of the farmers market promoting our Michigan Green Amendment event and sharing that the Michigan Green Amendment was just introduced in the state congress. A woman, who thought I was asking for a signature for something else, stopped when I told her it was for a Michigan Green Amendment event. She stopped and said last year she and her 12 year old son signed in support adding that her son is very interested in the climate and it is something that is discussed in his school. I had, hot off the press, the wording of the Michigan Green Amendment that was introduced in congress by Rep Rachel Hood. I gave her the only copy I had of the proposed amendment to give to her son. “Tell him it is now before the legislature.”

In all the connections I make in my outreach, this one is the most meaningful. Talking to the children asking them if they think they have a right to clean air, water, soil, and hearing their answers is enjoyable.

From a step you can take in your daily life, to a movement you can support with your signature or a message you can share with family and friends — every week you will receive a short message with a meaningful action you can take to help Guard Nature & Our Mother Earth on behalf of all people, all generations and all of nature.

Also coming each week will be “Find the Gnome”. Play the game on your own for a bit of fun, or join the Guardian Gnome Community on our Action Platform, be the first to tell us where the gnome is in the comment section, and have your name added to the free prize drawing that will take place every quarter.

Below get a taste of the game by finding the gnome among the volunteers helping with our year end campaign. If you go to the Action App and are the first to find the gnome you can be in our special first prize drawing. We are still working on the prize, but whatever it is it will be fun!
