National Green Amendments Day is Coming Soon on July 13!

Mark your calendars now because it’s going to be an engaging, inspirational, educational and artistic day! Every year on Green Amendment Day we try to bring you something a little different, but want to leave you with the same inspirational and confident feeling. We hope you will not only join us, but bring along a friend or two to enjoy what we have planned this year!
First: We are going to be sharing a special interview highlighting the power of state constitutions for social and environmental progress with expert Professor Robert Williams. The interview will be livestreamed on July 15 and viewers will be entered into our free Green Amendment Day prize drawing! Second: This year you will have a chance to share your creativity and passion for the Green Amendment movement! Share a piece of art, a song, or a verse of a poem with us about what Green Amendments mean to you by July 13, and we will add it to our virtual Green Amendment Day gallery. Whether you are an artist or not it’s going to be fun! More details are coming (including some sample lines of poetry to get you inspired) so stay tuned!

Rhode Island Makes Strong & Early Progress
Proposed for the first time this year, the Rhode Island Green Amendment has already been the subject of committees on both the House and Senate side of the state’s legislature.
And just this week, the Senate Committee voted in support of the amendment, recommending that the full senate support it for passage.

Green Amendment efforts are re-initiating in Kentucky and West Virginia! To prepare for our education and outreach efforts, join our leading partners at Black Appalachian Coalition (BLAC) for the 4th Annual Storytelling and Policy Summit from July 17-20, 2025. GAFTG will be there leading a session on storytelling for environmental justice.
