WA Green Amendment tutorial for how to testify – 4 to 5 PT

Our lead state partners, 350 Washington are offering help in preparing to testify on Feb 1.

We are aware that providing testimony via zoom before the Washington legislature can be challenging. We have suggestions for preparing your testimony:

• We can help with reviewing a draft testimony, rehearsal, etc. We will have a drop-in zoom meeting to discuss your ideas on: Monday, Jan 31, 2022 from 4-5pm.

• Practice and time your testimony. Make sure it is 1-2 minutes.

• Introduce yourself.

• Include: “I support HJR 4209.”

• Add a personal story about what the legal right to clean air and water means to you. (Do you have experience with asthma? Do sewage spills impact you directly? Are you a business owner? Some committee members are particularly interested to hear how this might affect businesses, if at all.)

• Add one or two ideas from below or create your own. (Use different wording when possible):
